OFB Butter Brick Forming and Wrapping Machine
OFB Butter Brick Forming and Wrapping Machine is an intermittent carousel-type forming and wrapping machine designed for packing butter into retail bricks. The machine doses the product, forms a rectangular butter brick and wraps it in laminated aluminium foil or parchment.
The equipment is used in dairy production where butter must be packed automatically into retail portions with repeatable weight, stable geometry and a neat final package appearance. OFB combines product dosing, brick forming and wrapping in one synchronized technological cycle.
The key advantage of OFB is that it automates not only butter dosing, but also brick forming, packaging material feeding, wrapping and discharge of finished packs to the next section of the production line.
OFB is selected for manufacturers that need to move butter packaging from manual or semi-automatic operation to a stable automatic process. The machine can work with butter bricks from 100 to 250 g in the standard range and can be equipped with format tooling for different pack sizes.
Product can be supplied through a hopper with augers or directly from the production line. A volumetric dosing unit forms the required portion, after which the machine shapes the product into a brick and feeds packaging material from a roll.
The packaging material is fed by a belt system. The machine then performs wrapping operations, forms the finished pack and discharges the butter brick to the next line section. This sequence synchronizes dosing, forming, material feeding and product discharge.
OFB works with laminated aluminium foil or parchment. When selecting the packaging material, it is necessary to consider roll width, external roll diameter, core diameter, material thickness, web stability, print quality, folding behaviour and compliance with food production requirements.
The machine design combines stainless steel and polymer components suitable for industrial operation. Protective guarding improves operator safety, while automatic lubrication supports stable operation of the dosing, forming and wrapping units. A UV lamp can be included for additional sanitary treatment of the packaging material or packaging area.
OFB can be used as a standalone forming and wrapping machine or integrated into a complete butter production line. After wrapping, butter bricks can be transferred to checkweighing, date marking, accumulation, case packing, wraparound packaging or other downstream packaging equipment.

The standard machine version provides output up to 58 butter bricks per minute. For higher-speed production tasks, a servo version can be used with output up to 120 butter bricks per minute. Final capacity depends on brick weight, packaging format, butter properties, packaging material, product feeding method and line configuration.
